Join Marcy Bertling, certified Yoga Teacher and Massage Therapist, as she leads you through this 2-hour long introduction to Thai massage. Thai yoga massage is an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. This Thai Yoga special event class is a hybrid of Hatha yoga and Thai bodywork. This "Yin-like" class will offer adjustments and Thai massage techniques, performed by qualified teachers to further enhance the stretches.

Thai yoga combines the benefits of restorative yoga stretches and the deep tissue release experienced in massage. The combination of the therapeutic effects of yoga and massage together in one class allows the combined benefits to be both relaxing and blissful. Benefits to Thai Massage include:

  • Increased flexibility, releasing both deep and superficial tension
  • Increases resistance to injury
  • Relieves pain due to arthritis, stress, and overworked muscles
  • Improves range of motion
  • Enhances the body's natural energy flow, and promoting inner peace and a quiet mind
  • Many clients report they feel taller, more graceful, more integrated, and they experience an exquisite sense of freedom in their body

Students are encouraged to wear loose and comfortable clothing. Expect to be positioned in a variety of restorative yoga positions during this class, combined with deep static and rhythmic pressures/hands on adjustments.
