Join Yoga Vie and Tina Ventrella for an in-depth training on teaching yin yoga. More than just passive stretches, yin yoga brings a more meditative aspect of asana to the forefront of your practice. With a focus on stretching connective tissue around the joints, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia. Learn how this practice can benefit the organs, muscles, joints, and tendons of the body- as well as the mind.


This 6 hour intensive teacher training will include:

  • In-depth discussion - 'What is Yin Yoga', philosophy behind the practice, balance of yin and yang

  • Difference between Yin and Restorative 

  • Discussion of fascia, the many different definitions, roles, perspectives from Geneva Fascial Congress

  • Discussion of the differing anatomical presentation of each human

  • 26 traditional Yin Yoga poses - demonstration, names, use of props, safety, modifications

  • Involvement of TCM Meridian System in a Yin practice, organ systems, energy lines, emotional associations

  • Sequencing based on Meridian System

  • Theming suggestions

  • Yin practice offering, meditation - Sarah Powers methodology and Paul Grilley methodology

  • Teaching practicum

  • Take home packet 

  • Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credit available


Registration also includes a copy of Sarah Power’s book Insight Yoga, which will be used during the training.

Training will be from 10am-5pm, with a 1 hour lunch break from 1pm-2pm. You’re welcome to bring any and all props or items you’d like for the day, including food (however there is no refrigeration available at the studio, so please bring your own cooler if needed). There are also lunch options close by the studio if you’d prefer to venture out during the break).
